GAUGE:

10 stitches + 16 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter stitch (knit every row). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to
make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a
larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:
1. Panels are worked in Garter stitch (knit every row), changing color to create stripes. To change
color, cut the old color leaving an end about 8 in. (20 cm) long, then begin working with new color,
leaving a long tail on the new color as well. If you like, you may knot the old and new yarn tails
together. When you have finished knitting the Panel, unknot the ends and weave them into the Panel.
2. 7 Panels are knit, then sewed together to make the Afghan.
3. Since this design does not include a border, you may wish to slip the first stitch of every row to keep
the sides of the Panels neat.

Fold blanket in thirds lengthwise along seams
between strips. Starting at cast-on edge, roll blanket towards bound-off edge. When 3 strips are rolled, wrap #5105 single section in center around roll. Mark placement of 5 buttons under buttonloops. Unroll blanket and sew on buttons.

Yarn:

• Noro Silk Garden, 45%silk, 45% kid mohair and 10% lambswool, worsted weight (1.75 oz/50g, 109 yds/100m) 9 skeins in verigated colorways, your choice of MC
• Cascade Sierra, 80% pima cotton and 20% wool worsted weight. (3.5oz/100g, 192 yds/ 176m) 1 skein for CC crocheted edging.

Needles: 5.5 mm/US 9

Other Materials: 6 mm/US J-10 crochet hook

Directions:

Panel: With MC cast on 50 sts. Work in St st until the first skein is used. Join a second skein of MC and work in Stst until entire skein in used. Now join a third skein of MC and work Stst until skein is nearly used, reserving enough yarn to bind off.

Bind Off.

Repeat Panel instructions for panel 2 and 3.

With mattress stitch, sew the 3 panels together.

Edging: Join CC with crochet hook to edge of throw. Work 3 rounds of single crochet evenly spaced around edge of throw. Fasten off. Weave in loose ends.

Cont even in pat until work from beg measures 12½ (17½) ins [32 (44.5) cm], ending with a WS row. Place markers at each end of last row.
Work 8 (10) rows even in pat. Cast off in pat.

FINISHING
Sew shoulder and collar seams. Sew in sleeves placing rows above markers along cast off edges of Body. Sew sleeve seams.
