Sparkle Lacy Throw

A great throw for your favorite chair or sofa. Use this yarn and you'll have a little sparkle to "throw" around.

MEASUREMENTS
Approx 46 x 56 ins [117 x 142 cm].

MATERIALS
Bernat® Satin Sparkle (80 g/2.8 oz; 146 m/160 yds)
53110 (Sapphire) 12 balls
Size 5 mm (U.S. 8) circular knitting needle 36 ins [90 cm] long or size
needed to obtain gauge.
GAUGE: 18 sts and 24 rows = 4 ins [10 cm] in stocking st.

INSTRUCTIONS
Lace Panel (worked over 9 sts).
1st row: (RS). K1. yo. K1. K2tog. P1. ssk. K1. yo. K1.
2nd and alt rows: P4. K1. P4.
3rd row: As 1st row.
5th row: K2. K2tog. yo. P1. yo. ssk. K2.
7th row: K1. K2tog. yo. K1. P1. K1. yo. ssk. K1.
9th row: K2tog. yo. K2. P1. K2. yo. ssk.
10th row: As 2nd row.
These 10 rows form Lace Panel Pat.

Cast on 180 sts. Do not join. Knit 7 rows (garter st), noting fi rst row is WS and inc 19 sts evenly across last row. 199 sts.
1st row: (RS). *P2. Work 1st row Lace Panel. (P2. K2tog. yo. P2. yo.
ssk) twice. P2. K2tog. yo. Rep from * to last 13 sts. P2. Work 1st row Lace Panel. P2.
2nd row: *K2. Work 2nd row Lace Panel. (K2. P2) 5 times. Rep from * to last 13 sts. K2. Work 2nd row Lace Panel. K2.
3rd row: *P2. Work 3rd row Lace Panel. (P2. yo. ssk. P2. K2tog. yo)
twice. P2. yo. ssk. Rep from * to last 13 sts. P2. Work 3rd row Lace Panel. P2.
4th row: As 2nd row.
Last 4 rows form pat. Lace Panel Pat is now in position.
Cont in pat until approx 54½ ins [138.5 cm] total length ending on a 4th row of Lace Panel Pat.
Next row: (RS). Knit, dec 19 sts evenly across. 180 sts.
Knit 6 rows. Cast off knitwise (WS).
Side edging: (RS). Pick up and knit 226 sts across side edge. Knit 6 rows. Cast off knitwise (WS). Rep along opposite side.

GAUGE:
15 sts + 20 1/2 rows = 4 in. (10 cm) in St st (k on RS, p on WS). BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
Seed Stitch (over an even number of sts)
Row 1 (RS): *K1, p1; rep from * across.
Row 2: P the knit sts, and k the purl sts.
Rep Row 2 for Seed st.
NOTES:
Circular needle is used to accommodate large number of sts. Work back and forth on circular needle as if working on straight needles.

THROW
Note: Work back and forth on circular needle as if working on straight needles.
With A, cast on 120 sts.
Rows 1-6: With A, work in Seed st.
Row 7 (RS): With A, work in Seed st as established over first 5 sts for border, place a marker, k to last 5 sts, place a marker, work in Seed st as established over last 5 sts for border.
Rows 8-11: With A, continue as established, working sts outside of markers (first and last 5 sts) in Seed st and the remaining sts in St st (k on RS, p on WS).
Row 12: With A, work in Seed st over first 5 sts, St st to last 5 sts, work last 5 sts in Seed st. Continue to work as established, keeping sts outside of markers (first and last 5 sts) in Seed st and the remaining sts in St st changing color as follows:
Rows 13-30: With B, rep Row 12.
Rows 31 and 32: With C, rep Row 12.
Rows 33-38: With D, rep Row 12.
Rows 39-50: With E, rep Row 12.
Rows 51-58: With C, rep Row 12.
Rows 59-62: With F, rep Row 12.
Rows 63-74: With D, rep Row 12.
Rows 75-78: With C, rep Row 12.

I made mine with Noro Taiyo-cotton/silk/wool/nylon blend.
