MATERIALS


• 2 balls S. Charles Collezione LUNA 71% super kid mohair, 20% silk, 9% lurex (0.88oz/25g; 232yds/212.5m) in color #11 sunset (A)
• 2 balls in color #9 northern lights (B)

• 2 balls in color #26 sunbeam (C)
• 1 ball in color #22 champagne fizz (D)
• One size 10½ (6.5mm) circular needle, 32”/80cm long OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Yarn needle


KNITTED MEASUREMENTS
74”/188 cm wide x 18”/45.5 cm long


GAUGE
12½ sts and 19 rows = 4”/10 cm in


Simple Ripple Stitch

SPECIAL ABBREVIATIONS
K2tog: Knit 2 together (dec) – Knit 2 sts tog through the front loops.
Ssk: Slip, slip, knit (dec) – Slip 2 sts, one at a time
KNITWISE to right-hand needle, return the sts to
left-hand needle in the turned position and knit them together through the back loops.
PATTERN STITCHES

Garter stitch Knit every row.
Simple Ripple Stitch (multiple of 15 sts + 7)
Row 1 (RS): K3, *k1, yo, k5, ssk, k2tog, k5, yo; rep from * to last 4 sts, k4.
Row 2: K3, purl to last 3 sts, k3.
Rows 3 and 4: Knit.
Rows 5-10: Repeat Rows 1 and 2.
Rows 11 and 12: Knit.
Rep Rows 1-12 for Simple Ripple Stitch.

Stripe Pattern

Working in Simple Ripple Stitch, work with 1 strand each of the indicated colors held together, or 2 strands of same color if only 1 color is indicated:
4 rows C and D, 2 rows C and B, 8 rows B, 5 rows B and A, 5 rows A, 2 rows A and C, 2 rows C, 1 row C and A, 3 rows A and D, 1 row D and B, 5 rows B, 2 rows B and C, 5 rows C and A, 7 rows A, 2 rows A and B, 2 rows B and C, 2 rows C and D, 2 rows A and C, 2 rows A and D, 2 rows A and B, 6 rows B, 2 rows B and C, 2 rows C, 3 rows C and A, then 2 rows A.


SHAWL
NOTE: In photograph, cast-on edge is worn around model’s neck.
Using 2 strands of C held together, cast on 232 sts. Knit 4 rows.
(RS) Change to Simple Ripple Stitch and Stripe Pattern; work even until Stripe Pattern is complete.
(RS) Knit 3 rows. Change to 1 strand each of A and C held together; bind off all sts very loosely knitwise.


FINISHING
Block piece to measurements.
Weave in ends.
