Straight knitting needles, size 7 (4.50 mm) OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE

16" Length circular knitting needle, size 7 (4.50 mm)2 St holders1 St marker
GAUGE20 sts = 4"; 28 rows = 4" in St st
TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGEBACKWith straight needles, cast on 80(90-100-110-120-130) sts. 
Work even in St st for 2", end on WS. 
Mark begand end of last row for turning point. 
Work even until piece measures 6(6-6½-6½-7-7)" from beg, end onWS.
Dec Row (RS):  K2, k2 tog, k to last 4 sts, SSK, k2 - 78(88-98-108-118-128) sts.  Rep this dec every 1½"twice more - 74(84-94-104-114-124) sts. 
Work even until piece measures 11(11-11½-11½-12-12)" frombeg, end on WS.Inc
Row (RS):  K2, M1k, k to last 2 sts, M1k, k2 - 76(86-96-106-116-126) sts.  Rep this inc every 1½"twice more - 80(90-100-110-120-130) sts.  Work even until piece measures 15(15-15½-15½-16-16)" frombeg, end on WS.

Shape Armholes:  Bind off 4(5-5-6-6-7) sts at beg of the next 2 rows, then 2 sts at beg of the following
2rows - 68(76-86-94-104-112) sts. 
 Dec 1 st each side every RS row 4(5-8-9-12-13) times - 60(66-70-76-80-86) sts.  Work even until armholes measure 7½(8-8½-8½-9-9)", end on WS.
Shape Shoulders:
Bind off 2(3-3-4-5-6) sts at beg of the next 4 rows, then 1(2-4-5-5-6) sts at beg of thenext 2 rows. Sl remaining 50 sts to holder for back neck.

FRONTWork same as back until armholes measure 7½(8-8½-8½-9-9½)", end on WS - 60(66-70-76-80-86) sts. Mark center 40 sts on last row.
Shape Shoulders and Neck: 
Next Row (RS):  Bind off 2(3-3-4-5-6) sts, k to first marker, sl center 40 ststo holder for front neck, join another hank of yarn and k to end.  Working both sides at once, bind off 2(3-3-4-5-6) sts at beg of the next 3 rows, then 1(2-4-5-5-6) sts at beg of the next 2 rows. 
AT THE SAME TIME,dec 1 st at each neck edge EVERY row 5 times.

FINISHINGSew shoulder seams.

Neckband:  With RS facing, using circular needle, beg at left shoulder seam, pick up and k8 sts along leftfront neck edge, k40 sts from front holder, pick up and k8 sts along right front neck edge, then k50 sts fromback holder - 106 sts.  Mark for beg of rnd and carry marker up. 
Work even in St st (k EVERY rnd) until bandmeasures 4". 
Bind off.  Fold band in half to WS and sew in place.

Armhole Band: 
With RS facing, using circular needle, pick up and k95(100-105-105-115-120) sts aroundentire armhole edge.  Knit 1 row.  Bind off.  Sew side and armhole band seams.  Fold lower edge 2" to WS at markers and sew in place.

With RS facing, using circular needle and MC, pick up and knit 70 (76, 82, 90) sts around Armhole edge. Join for working in the rnd; pm for beg of rnd. Beg k1, p1 rib.Work even for 2 rows. Bind off all sts in Rib.NeckbandWith RS facing, using circular needle and MC, beg at right shoulder, pick up and knit 122 (124, 132, 136) sts around Neck shaping, including sts on holder; beg k1, p1 rib.Work even for 2 rows.
