Two-Tone Mod Hat!

This pattern from Lion Brand Yarns is oh so mod! Heads will turn on the slopes with this one!

SKILL LEVEL: Easy + (Level 3)
SIZE: One Size
Finished Circumference About 19 1/2 in. (49.5 cm), will stretch to fit a range of sizes.
Finished Height About 8 1/2 in. (21.5 cm)

MATERIALS
• 860-100 Lion Brand Vanna's Choice Yarn:
White 1 Ball (A) • 860-153 Lion Brand
Vanna's Choice Yarn: Black 1 Ball (B)
•Knitting Needles- Size 8 [5 mm]
• Large-Eye Blunt Needle

GAUGE:
15 sts + 30 rows = about 4 in. (10 cm) in Garter st (k every row).
When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern
and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. The needle or hook size called for
in the pattern is based on what the designer used, but it is not unusual for gauge to vary from
person to person. If it takes you fewer stitches and rows to make your swatch, try using a
smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

Making a Gauge Swatch
NOTES:
1. Hat is worked flat in Garter st (k every row) and intarsia colorwork, and then seamed. The
colorwork creates 6 sections of triangles.
2. Body of Hat is worked first, then sts are picked up along one long edge to work top of Hat.
3. When working in intarsia, use a separate ball of yarn for each section of color. Wind each
ball of yarn into 2 separate balls before beginning. When changing color, twist strands on WS
to prevent holes.
