A Real Winter Project- A Knitted Hanging

With the "holidaze" winding down and winter gearing up, what better way to stay indoors and commit to a grand project. This knitted hanging (designed by knitting artist Kaffe Fassett) could easily be turned into a huge project by doubling the strips for a blanket...it up to you...or it's up to how long your winter lasts...LOL.

Press as needed. Assemble strips in order from left to right and keeping cast off edges straight join together at sides. (Bottom edge will beuneven).

Top edge
With RS facing, using 5mm (US 8H) crochet hook and yarn C, attach yarn at top right corner of hanging, 1ch (does NOT count as st), dc evenly to end, turn
Row 1: 1ch (does NOT count as st), 1dc into each dc to end.
Fasten off.

Bottom edge
With RS facing using 5mm (US 8H) crochet hook and yarn C, attach yarn to bottom left corner of hanging and work as given for top edge all around shaped bottom edge.
