This scarf is all knitted cables sans scarf!
In this pattern, if you remove the cables, it’s basically just k1, p1 ribbing all the way up.
Shown in: Be Sweet Jacaranda Ribbon Ball with Purple Hannah Silk
Materials:
• 2 balls of Be Sweet Ribbon Ball (95 yds/50g, baby mohair, metallic, ribbon) . . . Magic Ball works just as well
• 20 yards of Hannah Silk ribbon or similar
• US 11 (8 mm) and 19 (15 mm) needles
• Cable needle and yarn needle
Instructions: Using size 19 needles, cast on 12 sts with ribbon yarn. Knit 4 rows in garter st. Change to Be Sweet Ribbon Ball and size 11 needles.
Row 1: Increase in each st by knitting in front and back of st. Row 2-6: SI 1, p1, *k1, p1* across.
Row 7: Slip 6 stitches to cable needle and hold in back of work, (k1, p1) 3 times, (k1, p1) 3 times from cable needle, slip 6 stitches to cable needle and hold in back of work, (k1, p1) 3 times, (k1,p1) 3 times from cable needle.
Row 8-13: SI 1, p1, *k1, p1* across.
Row 14: SI 1, p1, *(k1, p1) *2 times, slip 6 stitches to cable needle and hold in back of work, (k1, p1) 3 times, (k1, p1) 3 times from cable needle, (k1, p1) 3 times.
Row 15-20: SI 1, p1, *k1, p1* across.
Repeat rows 7-20 to desired length or second ball of Be Sweet yarn runs out, ending with row 13. Change to ribbon yarn and size 19 needles.
Next row: K2tog across. Knit next 3 rows Bind off.
For added blossom of ribbon: Pull out garter stitch bumps of wide ribbon and with needle and thread, tack them full and open at base to create a bubble effect. Be creative and add ribbons, beads, and bows.
