Wool Ribbed Cowl

Martha Stewart has come out with her own line of yarn at Lion Brand Yarns. Here is a quick cowl pattern that will keep all you Northern gals warm and toasty.

SIZE: Varies
S/M (L/1X)
Finished Circumference 25 (28 1/2) in. (63.5 (72.5) cm)
Finished Length 16 (18) in. (40.5 (45.5) cm)
Note: Pattern is written for smallest size with changes for larger size in parentheses. When only one number is given, it applies to both sizes. To follow pattern more easily, circle all numbers pertaining to your size before beginning.

MATERIALS
• 5200-553 Lion Brand Martha Stewart Crafts Roving Wool: Umbrella 5 7 Balls
• Circular Knitting Needles 16 inches Size 10
• Stitch Markers
• Large-Eye Blunt Needle

GAUGE:
14 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) over pattern. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

COWL
Cast on 88 (100) sts. Place marker for beg of rnd. Join by working the first st on left hand needle with the working yarn from the right hand needle and being careful not to twist sts.
Rnd 1: *K2, p2; rep from * to end of rnd.
Rnd 2: K1, *p2, k2; rep from * to last 3 sts, p2, k1.
Rep Rnds 1 and 2 until piece measures about 16 (18) in. (40.5 (45.5) cm) from beg. Bind off.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.
