Pucker Up with Kiss Kiss Yarn!

Novelty yarn is fun, fun, fun...and fast to knit up super cool scarves! This scarf pattern uses only one skein of Filatura Di Crossa Kiss Kiss yarn.

SIZE One size
MATERIALS
• 1 hank Filatura Di Crosa KISS
KISS 65% acrylic, 20% wool, 15% polyester (3.5oz/1OOg; 11yds/1Om) in color #15 coral reef
• One pair size 7 (4.5mm) needles
KNITTED MEASUREMENTS
6" in circumference x 52" long/15cm x
132cm
GAUGE
Gauge is not essential to this project.
NOTES:
HOW TO WORK WITH KISS KISS
This is a ladder-type yarn with
decorative boucle pigtails strung along a ladder (or railroad track) of yarn, into which the pick-up east-on and knit stitches are worked.
You will work into every space between
rungs of the ladder (please note that
there may be 2 or 3 strands of yam [joining the side rails of the ladder] between the wider openings- the wider opening counts as the pick-up area).
To cast on, you will "thread" the tip of the needle into successive openings in the ladder, picking up your "east-on" stitches.

SCARF
"Cast on" 3 stitches, as instructed above. Turn needle.
Row 1 * Place the tip of the right-hand needle into

the first east-on stitch and then pick up the next
space along ladder of the yarn by wrapping it around the needle as if to knit. Pull the new stitch through

the "east-on" stitch; repeat from * across row- 3

stitches. Turn needle.

Continue to repeat Row 1, until you are near the end of the hank of yarn.
NOTE: The scarf will naturally form a spiral.

Bind off all stitches knitwise.

• Additional Materials 5 Dritz sew-on snaps, size 30 mm

Large-eyed needle that will fit through holes on snaps

GAUGE20 sts = 4 in. (10 cm) over pattern.

BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the

size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you

fewer stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if

more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

NOTES:
1. Piece is worked as a rectangle.

2. Snaps are sewn to the rectangle, then the ends are seamed.

3. The shape and the snaps provide multiple wearing options! Leave the piece unsnapped for a lush

circular cowl. Snap a few of the snaps for a close fitting cowl. Snapping all of the snaps will create

armholes. Slip your arms through to make a shrug!

COWL/SHRUGCast on 61 sts.
Row 1:

K1, *p1, k1; rep from * to end of row.

Row 2:

FINISHING

Sew Snaps

Note:

We sewed the snaps in place with straight stitches and a strand of yarn.

Unsnap each snap into 2 pieces. You will sew all 5 of the same piece to one section of the piece, and all 5 of the remaining pieces to a second section of the piece.

The piece is reversible, but for purposes of sewing the snaps in place, designate one side as the right side, the other as the wrong side.

Following diagram for placement, sew 5 matching snap pieces to the right side of the piece. Still following the diagram for placement, sew the remaining 5 snap pieces to the wrong side of the piece.

Sew ends together to form a tube.

Weave in ends.

NOTE:

Ringo is a thick-and-thin yarn constructed as a series of linked chains – some links are thick and others thin. Cast on is worked by picking up a loop of one of the chain links. Knit sts are worked by inserting RH needle into stitch on LH needle and from back to front on designated thick or thin chain on yarn strand (1 or 2 loops of chain as indicated by pattern) through st on needle. Whenever a st is formed by picking up 2 loops,
those 2 loops count as 1 st in the next row. Ringo is a unique yarn that is easier to knit with the yarn held in the left hand while working. Stitches may slip off of needle easily so you may find it easier to work on a circular needle, where sts cannot slip from either end of needle. SHRUG is worked in two pieces from lower edge of Sleeve to center of Back. Pieces are sewn together at center of Back. For instructional videos on working with RINGO, please visit www. tahkistacycharles.com/ringo.
