Bright Placemats for Outdoor Dining!

Summer is on its way, and nothing is more summer than having friends over for backyard dining! These placemats will brighten up any outdoor table setting!

Placemat: 16" x 12½" without fringe [approximately 40.5 cm x 32 cm]
MATERIALS
• LION BRAND Lion Cotton
1 ball #148 Turquoise
1 ball #147 Purple
1 ball #146 Fuchsia
1 ball #157 Sunflower
OR COLORS OF YOUR CHOICE
• Size 8 (5 mm) knitting needles OR SIZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE
• Size K-10.5 (6.60 mm) Crochet hook

GAUGE
16 stitches + 30 rows (15 ridges) = 4" (10 cm) in Garter stitch (knit every row) using Size
8 needles.
BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. PLACE MATS
Make one in each colorway shown above.
With A, cast on 50 stitches.

Rows 1 - 8 with A, knit.
Rows 9 -10 with B, knit.
Rows 11-14 with A, knit.
Rows 15-16 with B, knit.
Rows 17-20 with C, knit.
Rows 21-22 with B, knit.
Rows 23-26 with A, knit.
Rows 27-28 with C, knit.
Rows 29-32 with D, knit.
Rows 33-34 with C, knit.
Rows 35-38 with A, knit.
Rows 39-40 with C, knit.
Rows 41-80 with A, knit.
Rows 81-82 with C, knit.
Rows 83-86 with A, knit.
Rows 87-88 with C, knit.
Rows 89-92 with D, knit.
Rows 93-94 with C, knit.
Rows 95-98 with A, knit.
Rows 99-100 with B, knit.
Rows 101-104 with C, knit.
Rows 105-106 with B, knit.
Rows 107-110 with A, knit.
Rows 111-112 with B, knit.
Rows 113-120 with A, knit.
Bind off all stitches and weave in ends.

FINISHING
The edges are finished with a fringe of approximately 2 inches [5 cm] in length; one strand of each of the four colors. Fringe assembly is one knot of fringe on every other stitch. Trim fringe if desired.
