Is it a Cowl?...Is it a slouchy hat?...or is a Tailored Turban?

It's all three...check it out! It's a Bertrand Louis!

Yarn
1 skein of malabrigo yarn merino worsted (192m/100g, shown in ‘cinnabar’)
Needles
5.5 mm circular needles, crochet hook for provisional cast on
1 tapestry needle to weave in ends

Gauge
12 stitches and 14 rows = 10cm in half brioche stitch after blocking


Pattern Stitch

half brioche stitch
row 1 (ws): *sl 1 purlwise wyif, yo, k1; repeat from *
row 2 (rs): *p1, k1 together with yo from row 1; repeat from *

edge stitch
k knit stitches, sl purl stitches with yarn in front

Pattern
co 49 sts using provisional cast on
row 1: *k1, p1; repeat from *
row 2: work 3 stitches in edge stitch, start row 1 of half brioche stitch to last 3 sts, work edge stitch.
row 3: 3 stitches in edge stitch, start row 2 of half brioche stitch to last 3 sts, work edge stitch
repeat row 2 and 3 til you got 44 cm or prefered length
open provisional cast on and knit sts together with sts from cast on edge.
voilà: you got your very own bertrand louis, wear it however you like, it’s very useful as a cowl, or a hat ... maybe you even find a new way to wear bertrand louis!
