Soft and Silky Cowl

Not all cowls need to be chunky and bulky...this cowl pattern is soft and light and is knitted with beautiful yarn.


YARN
Rowan Classic Pure Silk DK 4 x 50gm

OR
Rowan Classic Baby Alpaca DK 4 x 50gm

NEEDLES
4mm (no 8) (US 6) circular needle

TENSION
22 sts and 30 rows to 10 cm measured over st st using 4mm (US 6) needles.

COWL
Using 4mm (US 6) circular needle cast on 144 sts.
Working in rounds throughout, cont as follows:
Round 1 (RS): *K2, P2, rep from * to end.
This round forms rib.
Work in rib for a further 7 rounds.

Round 9 (RS): Knit.
This round forms st st.
Cont in st st until snood meas 40 cm from cast-on edge.
Now work in rib for 7 rounds.
Cast off in rib.

FINISHING
Press.
