Big Stitch Pillow

What fun to knit up a couple of big stitch pillows. Get your giant needles out and start knitting for your favorite sofa or knitting chair!


Finished Measurements:
13" long x 13" wide, square, not including fringe

Yarn:
12o yards of each of the following weights: 2 sport, 1 worsted, and 5 bulky yarns
1- 12" inch square white polyfill pillow
1 pair size 50 US needles
Size N-P/15 US crochet hook
Sewing needle, pins
Several Yards of smooth yarn of a complementary color to sew seams

Gauge:
4 sts x 5 rows= 4" in St st

Pillow:
With all yarns held together, CO 16 stitches
Row 1: (RS) Knit. Work even in St st until piece measures 12 inches, end after WS row. Work 2 rows in Garter St.
Next Row: (RS) Knit. Work even in St st until piece measures 26 inches from CO, ending on a WS row. BO all sts loosely.

Finishing:
Pin cushion cover in place around pillow form. Woith sewing needle and smooth yarn and with RS facing, sew side and bottom seams around pillow form, removing pins as seams are complete. Eave in ends.

Fringe:
Using yarns for pillow, cut fringe into 8 inch lengths. Insert crochet hook through both layers of fabric, and with 1-2 sstrands of yarn, drape strand(s) evenly in notch of hook and pull through. Cont around until completed.
