MATERIALS
BERROCO FURZ (50 grs), 18 balls #3837 Granite (MC), FIBER:50% Nylon, 25% Wool, 25% Acrylic BALL WEIGHT:1.75 oz / 50 g BALL LENGTH:90 yds / 83 m
BERROCO CHINCHIILLA (50 grs), 2 balls #5642 Panic Gray (CC),FIBER:
100% Rayon BALL WEIGHT:1.75 oz / 50 g BALL LENGTH:77 yds / 71 m
NOTE: Berroco has discontinued these yarns, but look for yarns with the same weight.
29" length circular knitting needle, size 10 OR SIZE OR OBTAIN GAUGE. Crochet hook, size 5.50 mm (I).
GAUGE
4 sts = 1"; 5 rows = 1" in St st with MC, TO SAVE TIME, TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.
SHAWL
With circular needle, using MC, cast on 208 sts. Work even in St st until piece measures 52", end on WS. Bind off all sts.
FINISHING
Steam piece lightly.
Fringe: Cut 1 18" long strand each of MC and CC. Put 2 strands tog and fold in half. With crochet hook, draw center of strands through first st of cast-on edge of shawl, forming a loop. Pull ends of fringe through this loop. In this manner, make fringe around all 4 sides of shawl, working in every 3rd st on cast-on and bound-off edges and every other row on sides of shawl.
