Ribbed Striped Scarf...Extra Long!

Playing with texture and color makes each scarf unique! Experiment with patterns and color! Be creative!

About 9 3/4 x 78 (9 3/4 x 157) in. (25 x 198 (25 x 399 cm))


MATERIALS
• 450-187 Lion Brand Jiffy Yarn: Gold 3 (6) Balls (A)
• 450-129 Lion Brand Jiffy Yarn: Citron 3 (6) Balls (B)
• 450-172 Lion Brand Jiffy Yarn: Green Tea 3 (6) Balls (C)
• Knitting Needles- Size 9 [5.5 mm]
• Large-Eye Blunt Needles

GAUGE:
26 sts = about 4 in. (10 cm) in K2, p2 rib, slightly stretched. BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR GAUGE. When you match the gauge in a pattern, your project will be the size specified in the pattern and the materials specified in the pattern will be sufficient. If it takes you less stitches and rows to make a 4 in. [10 cm] square, try using a smaller size hook or needles; if more stitches and rows, try a larger size hook or needles.

STITCH EXPLANATION:
PATTERN STITCH
K2, p2 Rib (multiple of 4 sts + 2)
Row 1: Sl 1, k1, *p2, k2; rep from * across row.
Row 2: Sl 1, p1, *k2, p2; rep from * across row.
Rep Rows 1 and 2 for K2, p2 Rib.

NOTES:
STRIPE SEQUENCE Working in K2, p2 Rib, *work 4 rows with A, 18 rows with B, 4 rows with A, 8 rows with C, 18 rows with A, 8 rows with B, 18 rows with C; rep from * for Stripe Sequence.

SCARF
With A, cast on 62 sts. Work in K2, p2 Rib and Stripe Sequence until piece measures about 78 (157) in. (198 (399 cm)) from beginning. Bind off.

FINISHING
Weave in ends.
